The movie will be formatted as a documentary / mockumentary; a recording of an action. No narrative voice-over will be used. Fragments of the action will be mixed with interviews of the participants of the project. Parts of these interviews can act as voiceover. The preparation of the action will also be part of the film.

I was thinking about splitting the movie into the following parts.

Preparation

Filming on location in Amsterdam: the final 2 meetings before the actual trip. Exchanging thoughts, discussions.

The road to Terres Rouges

Filming, roadmovie style. Filming from within the cars, at breaks, looking at the map, at fuel stations, et cetera.

Searching the actual location / preparation

After arriving at the location, filming of the looking for the exact location, see if it is still there. Try to find the exact locations of the relevant scenes. Preparation: people testing equipment, trying on their suits.

Re-enacting of parts of the movie

Four participants will speak scenes of the movie. The dialog will be translated to be in the past tense, to stress our idea. A couple of scenes will be picked out. They need to be filmed Actors can be interchangable, and will be picked at the moment. Acting will be bad — intentionally! Reading directly from the paper is even encouraged.

Action-scenes: deconstruction Works

Our mission is: Art is contagious, and must be destroyed, cleaned, vanished. Using tools we have brought, we will enact this. These scenes are the counterparts of the killing-scenes in M.V. We need to find a good subject: hopefully the film set is still there, otherwise we will have to deconstruct something else. In that case maybe we can track down where they left the bits and pieces of the set

The aftermath

As a reenactment of the end titles: cleaning up the mess we have made in the action scenes.

Interviews

The project participants tell about what they are trying to accomplish and how they are gonna do it. Interviews will be done on three points in time:

• Before the trip: expectations
• During the trip: how they experience it
• After the trip: looking back, and: about what’next

Interviewing bystanders

The action might attract attention of people. Let’s try and get their opinion on what’s going on. Need to prepare french questions.
